Our employee spotlight series highlights team members who go above and beyond every day. Get to know the hard-working people who make up the heart of Heffler. Below, we highlight Programmer/Analyst Jim O'Donnell.
What are your responsibilities at Heffler?
I’m a programmer. I mostly maintain the CAS 2.0 system, but I also make changes to CAS 3.0, keep up the databases, create websites, and work on processors and services.
What is the most interesting aspect of your job?
Getting problems that sound simple at first and then realizing halfway through that they’re much harder than I thought.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I started doing improv comedy back in August, and now I do that five days a week. The rest of my time is usually spent watching movies and reading.
What is something that would surprise people about you?
I play guitar and piano. Not well, but it’s still something. I was in a series of bands when I teenager and they were all terrible. Please don’t look them up.
What motivates you?
Computers are always changing and keeping up with that fluctuating nature is a necessity.
What do you like most about working at Heffler?
Getting to work with such a great team.
